Health Campaign
Along with the students from my local high school, we will make menstrual tracking bracelets. These bracelets will represent the days in the cycle and the month, and the charm on the end is the reminder for pap exams. With a donation of $25.00, it will B1G1 (buy one give one). The money raised will be given to the PHRII mobile clinic to help fund the clinic so that can continue to provide services to the 144 rural villages in Mysore. As a participant of the 2018 global health study abroad to Mysore, India, I was able to witness the severity of need for the mobile units. There are many women in the rural areas that do not have access to routine healthcare.
PHRII reached out to 114 Anganavadi workers, 98 panchayat leaders, 47 village elders, and 468 self-help group leaders. They have also conducted over a hundred education programs across Mysore Taluk, that was attended by 5,161 community members. On the clinical side, they’ve completed 92 medical camps. In order to continue our help is needed.Cevical cancer screening is needed because India has one of the higher rates of women diagnosed with cervical cancer. Prerana has the HPV screening conducted when they visit the rural areas by providing free pap screening. It does cost the clinic to carry out this work. As part of my expierience I am hoping to make you aware, and can count on your contribution to help continue the good work that the staff of PHRII are conducting.
The media was obtained from PHRII.com. There you can get more information on their purpose and how your donations can help.
